Description
Tristel JET is a powerful sporicidal disinfectant that can be used on surfaces and equipment located near the patient. Tristel JET is designed to clean and disinfect.
As a foam, Tristel JET’s unique properties deliver chemistry activated at point of use without creating aerosols. This ensures fresh chemistry is delivered directly to the surface, without the risk of aerosols associated with sprays.
Tristel JET contains powerful cleaning agents that destroy DNA and RNA in seconds. Its cleaning efficacy meets the requirements of a medical device cleaner, and non-ionic surfactants lift and remove organic soiling and prevent them from clinging back on surfaces, optimising disinfection action.
Tristel JET utilises Tristel chlorine dioxide chemistry and is effective against microorganisms of concern. Tristel JET passes bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and mycobactericidal tests in 30 seconds, and sporicidal tests in 2 minutes. Disinfection is completed well within the time taken for the chemistry to dry.
Tristel JET is the best safeguard for patients and staff wherever the risks of infection are highest, and is ideal for areas such as isolation wards, operating theatres, intensive care units, oncology wards and neonatal wards.
Efficacy
Tristel JET achieves bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and mycobacteriacidal efficacy in 30 seconds, and sporicidal efficacy in 2 minutes. It combines cleaning and disinfection in one easy step. It has been tested in accredited laboratories and is proven effective against a variety of microorganism, including:
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Enterococcus hirae
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) Klebsiella pneumoniae
- Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE) Enterococcus faecium
- Mycobacterium terrae
- Mycobacterium avium
- Candia albicans
- Aspergillus brasiliensis
- Poliovirus Type 1
- Adenovirus Type 5
- Murine Norovirus
- Influenza A virus (H1N1)
- Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)*
- Vaccina Virus
- Human Papillomavirus (using Polyoma virus SV40 Surragte)
- Human Papillomavirus**
- Herpes Simplex Virus type 1
- Clostridium sporogenes
What is SARS-CoV-2?
SARS-CoV-2 is a severe respiratory syndrome virus and the strain of coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Coronaviruses are a group of airborne viruses that spread via respiratory droplets. These droplets can be directly transmitted to a new host directly or indirectly via contaminated surfaces.
Testing demonstrates that Tristel’s proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry is effective against SARS-CoV-2 in 30 seconds.
*A representative sample of Tristel chlorine dioxide chemistry has been tested in accordance with EN 14476:2013+A2:2019, at a concentration of 20 parts per million (ppm) JET has a chlorine dioxide concentration greater than 20ppm at point of use.
**Based on native infectious HPV Type 16 and Type 18 as tested by Meyers et al., (2020).
Chemistry
Tristel JET is based on a proprietary chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) chemistry, a well-documented and highly effective biocide. Tristel JET incorporates two separate compartments that contain Base Solution (citric acid) and Activator Solution (sodium chlorite). When mixed by pulling the Tristel JET Trigger, ClO₂ chemistry is generated. Tristel JET contains a non-ionic surfactant for added cleaning performance.
Product Options
Tristel JET is available in boxes of two 800ml Tristel JET bottles. Each bottle delivers 570 doses of sporicidal chlorine dioxide foam.
