Tristel DUO NCU can be used anywhere where ultrasound is used for invasive procedures such as line insertion, musculoskeletal procedures (MSK), needle guided biopsies, anaesthetic blocks and areas proximal to mucosa or areas that come into contact with probe covers.

The joint ACIPC and ASUM Guidelines for Disinfection of Ultrasound Transducers highlight that use of skin surface transducers in some areas may require a higher level of disinfection.
With cleaning not equating to appropriate disinfection; low-level disinfection covering only a limited range of microorganisms and high-level disinfection being impractical or time-consuming, intermediate-level disinfection provides the answer.

Tristel Duo NCU utilises our proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry, a well-documented and highly effective biocide which breaks down and destroys microorganisms by damaging its cell wall and hence microorganisms cannot build resistance to ClO₂.
It has two separate compartments that contain 125ml of Tristel Base Solution (citric acid) and 125ml of Tristel Activator Solution (sodium chlorite). Upon pressing the pump, the two solutions mix and Tristel Chlorine Dioxide chemistry is generated.
Our Chlorine Dioxide does not form hazardous by-products or halogenated compounds.
