This Privacy Notice applies to personal information that we collect when you engage with any of our services (collectively our “Services”), including for example:

What does Tristel do?

Tristel is a company specialising in the manufacturing of infection control, contamination control and hygiene products, headquartered in the United Kingdom but with group companies all around the world.  Our Services all serve to promote the sale and distribution of our disinfectant products. What personal information does Tristel collect and why?

The personal information that we may collect about you broadly falls into the following categories:

  • Information that you provide voluntarily

Depending on which of our Services you engage with, we may ask you to provide or you may choose to provide personal information to us. For example:

  • If you wish to contact us with an enquiry or complaint (whether via “Contact Us” via our Website or otherwise) we will typically ask you to provide your name and email address, organisation and information relating to your enquiry or complaint to help us to process it.

  • If you wish to purchase Tristel goods on behalf of your organisation, we will ask you to provide your name, email and role for use managing the customer relationship and contacting you for invoicing and account management purposes.
  • If you register to use our product Training Portal we will ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, organisation, role and department to track your training results and share them with your employer.
  • If you agree to participate in a post market customer or end user survey, we will ask you to provide your name, contact details and survey responses which we will then use to help improve our products and Services.
  • Information that we collect automatically

Again, depending on which of our Services you engage with, we may automatically collect certain personal information about you.

When you visit our Website or use one of our applications, we may collect certain information automatically from your device.  In some countries, including countries in the European Economic Area, this information may be considered personal information under applicable data protection laws.

Who does Tristel share my personal information with?

How does Tristel keep my personal information secure?

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information that we collect and process about you.  The measures we use are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your personal information.

We require our service providers and other parties with whom we share your personal information to apply appropriate technical and organisational security measures when they process your personal information that we share with them.

International data transfers

Your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident.  These countries may have data protection laws that are different to the laws of your country.

Specifically, our servers are located in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Germany and Shanghai, and our group companies and third party service providers and partners operate globally.  This means that when we collect your personal information we may process it in any of these countries.

However, we have taken appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal information will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Notice. These include implementing the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information between our group companies, which require all group companies to protect personal information they process from the EEA in accordance with European Union data protection law.

Our Standard Contractual Clauses can be provided on request. We will implement similar appropriate safeguards with our third party service providers and partners and further details can be provided upon request.

Data retention

We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).
